SLĂNIC is one of the 14 towns of Prahova County, ROMANIA, and currently known as a salt extraction center, as well as a spa town, with salt lakes.
   The town is famous for its salt lakes: BAIA BACIULUI, BAIA VERDE and BAIA ROȘIE, as well as for the OLD SALINE and NEW SALINE.
   While salt is still being extracted from the New Saline, the Old Saline is open to the public now, being used as a spa, and museum of the salt mining industry, and as a space where they are held annually International Contests of Aeromodelling, under the leadership of International Aeromodeling Center (i.s.).
